Description A U.S. Navy Grumman F-14A Tomcat from Fighter Squadron 33 (VF-33) "Starfighters" flies over the Soviet destroyer Sovremennyy in the Gulf of Sidra with the aircraft carrier USS America (CV-66) steaming in the background, 15 April 1986. This photo was taken a day after the "Operation El Dorado Canyon" strikes against Libya. VF-33 was assigned to Carrier Air Wing 1 (CVW-1) aboard the America for a deployment to the Mediterranean Sea from 10 March to 14 September 1986.
