Español: Escudo del municipio de Gualmatán, Nariño (Colombia):[1] El Escudo Gualmatán tiene sobre un contorno de color blanco, una cruz simbolizando la fe cristiana, la cual es de color rojo significativo de amor y hermandad. Hay una copa indígena, que recuerda nuestros ancestros y es orgullo de la raza descendiente del cacique Guatán. El libro abierto es la demostración de la capacidad y la inteligencia de las gentes de nuestra región, una gran mayoría de ellas dedicada al estudio y a la investigación. El trébol de cuatro hojas es el suelo fértil, rico en variedad de productos agrícolas. Hay también una representación del tesón y la fuerza del hombre campesino en unas manos que empuñan una herramienta de trabajo. Todo esto custodiado por dos leones, representando a los hijos de Gualmatan que son fieles guardianes de la cultura, la tradición, la religión, las buenas costumbres. Finalmente un resumen de la característica esencial de quienes habitan la región: “ El trabajo, la paz, el progreso”. |
