DescriptionEDGAR PALMER HOUSE, PRINCETON, MERCER COUNTY, NJ.jpg
English: NASSAU STREET IN PRINCETON. GIVEN AS A WEDDING PRESENT TO MARIA POTTER WHEN SHE MARRIED LT. ROBERT F,. STOCKTON WHO LATER BECAME A COMMODORE INB THE U.S. NAVY. BOUGHT BY EDGAR PALMER FOR WHOM PALMER SQUARE AND PALMER STADIUM ARE NAMED. HE WAS A MAJOR FIGURE IN PRINCETON AND HIS FAMILY LEFT THE HOUSE TO PRINCETON UNIVERSITY WHICH NOW USES IT AS A GUEST HOUSE.
THIS HOUSE DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE SEPARATELY LISTED ON THE NATIONAL REGISTRY AND I CANNOT TELL IF IT FALLS WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF THE HISTORIC DISTRICT. IT LIES ON NASSAU STREET IN THE HEART OF PRINCETON RIGHT ACROSS FROM THE CAMPUS AND PALMER WAS A FIGURE OF GREAT HISTORICAL PROMINENCE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF PRINCETON UNIVERSITY
