Notes La obra de Retratos de los españoles ilustres es una magnífica colección realizada a finales del siglo XVIII que buscaba conservar la memoria de los héroes a través de sus imágenes. Fue impulsada por el Conde de Floridablanca y apoyada por Carlos IV, haciéndose grabar por los primeros artistas del momento tras la búsqueda de las pinturas originales o copias de mejor mano y más fidedignas de los personajes. Dibujado por Maea, José (1760-1826) y grabádo por López Enguídanos, Tomás (1773 - 1814)
