File:Detection of drug resistance genes using MALBAC.jpg

Original file(960 × 720 pixels, file size: 57 KB, MIME type: image/jpeg)

Summary

Description
English: Solid tumours are often genetically heterogenous, and exposure of the tumour to chemotherapeutic agents may select for the outgrowth of resistant clones. MALBAC may be used as an unbiased approach to amplify DNA from a single drug resistant clone. After the creation of looped amplicons using five cycles of MALBAC, PCR may be applied to amplify tumour DNA exponentially. This then allows for the DNA sequence of a single drug resistant clone to be analyzed.
