Object history
Deutsch: Das älteste bekannte Gerichtssiegel, das die Jahreszahl 1511 trägt und seit 1549 in Abdrücken belegt ist, zeigt ebenso wie die zeitlich nachfolgenden Gerichts- und Stadtsiegel einen schreitenden Widder als „redende" Wappenfigur. Während das Wappentier in zeichnerischen Darstellungen bis ins 20. Jahrhundert herein diese Form behielt, erscheint es in den Siegeln seit dem 19. Jahrhundert stehend. Nach Verzicht auf den früher üblich gewesenen „Boden" oder Dreiberg und Bestimmung der schon seit 1933 in den Flaggen geführten Farben durch die Archivdirektion Stuttgart hat die Stadt im Jahre 1937 die jetzige Form des Wappens festgelegt.
