Deutsch: Das Wappen erinnert an zwei für den Ort wichtige Adelsgeschlechter. Die Sturmfahne stammt aus dem Wappen der Pfalzgrafen von Tübingen, die im Hochmittelalter Besitz in Kellmünz hatten. Der Löwe ist das geminderte Wappen der Herren von Rechberg, die von 1268 bis 1792 mit nur kurzer Unterbrechung die Herrschaft im Ort innehatten. Sie machten Kellmünz zum Hauptort der Herrschaft Illereichen. In ihre Herrschaftszeit fällt auch die Verleihung der Marktrechte 1330. Aus dem Familienwappen, das zwei rote Löwen zeigt, wurde für das Gemeindewappen ein Löwe entnommen. |
