„Das Wappen der Gemeinde Gersten ist schräglinks durch eine schwarze Leiste geteilt, hinten schräg geteilt durch eine schwarze Leiste. Es zeigt vorn in Blau eine goldene Linde mit sechs Blättern, hinten oben in Gold ein blaues Kreuz, hinten unten in Gold einen blauen Fachwerkgiebel.“
Die Farben der Gemeinde Gersten sind Blau und Gold.
Das Banner der Gemeinde Gersten ist blau-gold-blau senkrecht zu drei gleichen Teilen gestreift und belegt mit dem Wappen der Gemeinde.
