| Description |
English: Coppull Ring Spinning Mill The enormous size of the mill built by the Coppull Spinning Company Limited in 1906 can be appreciated here. The block protruding at the right-hand end was the engine house and the dark glass-faced tunnel at roof level immediately above was part of the rope-race through which belts and cables from the engines ran to power line-shafting on each floor the length of the mill. From this line-shafting further belts ran down to each spinning machine. Since closure as a spinning mill, the building has been taken over by Lancashire Enterprises and modified to accommodate a number of small firms dealing in various ways. |
