Description
English: Two men collecting for the victims of The Great Timber Yard Fire in Hartlepool, 1922. Set up by the mayor of Hartlepool the day after blaze, the fund soon gained popular support from places all over the region, such as Durham and Newcastle, as well as from further afield. Indeed, even the King and Queen made a £150 donation.
