English: U.S. Airman assigned to the 1st Special Operations Squadron oversees the aerial refueling of a CV-22 Osprey from an MC-130J Commando II during a training mission as part of Freedom Shield 23 over the Sea of Japan, Mar. 17th, 2023. The Osprey is a tiltrotor aircraft that combines the vertical takeoff capabilities of a helicopter and the long range, fuel efficiency and speed characteristics of a turboprop aircraft.
