6-teilige Serie Denkmale der Postgeschichte in der DDR ADN-ZB Zühlsdorf-14.6.1980. Ehemalige Posthalterei Oranienburger-Ecke Tucholskystraße in Berlin. Sie beherbergt heute noch das Postfuhramt und Verwaltungsstellen der Deutschen Post. Das Gebäude entstand in den Jahren 1875 bis 1881 als einer der ersten reichseigenen Postbauten in Berlin. Im Postwagenhof, Eingang Auguststraße, befanden sich ursprünglich zwei Stallgebäude. Die 1874 reichseigene Posthalterei besaß damals 380 Pferde, deren Zahl bis 1920 auf 1600 stieg. Ab 1924 wurde das Berliner Postfuhrwesen motorisiert. Am 1. Weihnachtsfeiertag das Jahres 1925 machten dann die letzten Postpferde die letzte Zustellfahrt. Die Ställe wurden umgebaut und im Hof eine große Wagenhalle errichtet. |
