Audra McDonald, SopranoAlabama Symphony OrchestraWright CenterSamford UniversityBirmingham, AlabamaSunday November 13, 2011Audra McDonald is a singer of incredible talent. I first heard her in "Carousel" at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre at Lincoln Center in 1994. I've seen her on PBS but this night was the first live performance since Carousel. Ms. McDonald is very, very good. She cares about what she sings. She cares about connecting with the audience. This performance was toward the end of her tour, but she sang it like it was the first night. Pure joy. Notice her smile! She's a Star.
