V letech 1941 až 1942 byl velitel výsadkové skupiny Silver A, která mimo jiné spolupracovala se skupinou Anthropoid při atentátu na zastupujícího říšského protektora R. Heydricha. Objevení vysílačky této skupiny mělo za následek vyhlazení obce Ležáky.
