Summary

Description
English: On a sacred hill, just north east of Mae Sot near the Burmese border, is Wat Phra That Doi Din Chi (Thai script: วัดพระธาตุดอยดินจี่; lit. "Temple of the Buddha Relics on Charred Earth Mountain"). It features a small Mon style stupa, approximately 2 1/2 meters in height, on top of a balancing rock, and a Buddha footprint enclosed within a glass cabinet. This is located on a ridge overlooking the Thai-Burmese border, formed by the Taunggin (Burmese) or Moei (Thai) River, which is hidden from sight by the line of trees below going from left to right. The hills and mountains in the distance, inside Burma's Myawaddy District, are part of the southern end of the Dawna Range.

In Thai, a balancing rock is called hin kio, and it is therefore that this temple is also called Wat Phra That Hin Kio (Thai script: วัดพระธาตุหินกิ่ว).
