Description

فارسی: دارُالفُنون نام مدرسه متوسطه‌ای بود که به ابتکار میرزا تقی خان امیرکبیر در زمان ناصرالدین‌شاه قاجار برای آموزش علوم و فنون جدید در تهران تأسیس شد. دارالفنون را می‌توان نخستین دانشگاه در تاریخ مدرن ایران دانست. در نوشته‌های ایرانی، تا دیر زمانی همهٔ دانشگاه‌های خارجی را دارالفنون می‌خواندند.ساختمان دارالفنون در خیابان ناصرخسرو در مرکز شهر تهران جای گرفته‌است.
