| Description |
English: Mayor Cave formed below the sea level approx. 230–175 million years ago. It was discovered in 1926 by the then Mayor Josip Perme. It consists of eight caverns. An artificial passage connects it with the Ice Cave. The latter, which was described already in the 17th century by the polymath Valvasor, features ice stalagmites in late winter. Two stalagnates, named King Matthias's Throne. Slovenščina: Županova jama je nastala pod morjem pred ok. 230-175 milijoni let. Leta 1926 jo je odkril župan Josip Perme. Sestavlja jo osem dvoran. Z umetnim rovom je povezana z jamo Ledenico. V tej jami, ki jo je opisoval že Valvasor, se pozno pozimi pojavljajo ledeni kapniki. Dva stalagmata, imenovana Prestol kralja Matjaža. |
