In my lifetime I must have visited Bray over 100 times, I am sad to report that I have never seen this building or anything which resembles this building. Then again I did not think that there was a significant statue of Prince Albert still standing in Dublin....
And so we (we Marys at any rate) learned that this was the Turkish Baths in Bray County Wicklow. Per the varioushistorylinks shared today, the building dates from 1859 - when there was a Victorian-era fashion for such baths. However the fad faded pretty quickly, and though this image captures the building in its original form and use, by 1867 the building was altered slightly for use as assembly rooms. It served as a cinema for a period, before becoming derelict. It was demolished in the 1980s....
