History edit

Euphoria was formed in 1993 by guitarist and composer Ken Ramm. Their 1999 self-titled effort featured guest appearances by Geddy Lee (Rush), Roy Babbington (Soft Machine), Anne Dudley (Art of Noise), and Juliet Roberts.[2][3] In 1999, the track Delirium from the debut release found its way onto the North American radio charts.[4] Delirium was also used in The Ongoing History of New Music episode "Alt-Rock's Greatest Instrumentals" (Episode 422, 2003).

Their album Beautiful My Child, featuring Kad Achouri, Ken Whiteley, Mont Campbell, B. J. Cole and Gayle Day, among others,[5] was recorded in the UK and released by Six Degrees Records in 2001.[6] Its reviews were generally positive, however some customers described it as failed experimentation.[7][8][9]

In 2006, Euphoria released their third album, Precious Time, which featured full-length vocal tracks from singers Tracy Bonham and Tina Dico.[10][4] It also included contributions from ten other musicians, including Howard Levy, and Pete Lockett.[11] The general reception was warm, praising the overall sound of the album, and how it doesn't seem to limit itself to one genre.[12][13] In 2007, EMI Music Publishing released a two-CD, "in-house", set titled Sinners and Saints. The Blue Remixes (also an "in-house" EMI Publishing release) was broadcast the same year.

In 2013, the E4 collection was released by British company AWAL, including both an instrumental and album version. In 2016, The Euphoria Remix EP was released.

In 2022 Euphoria released the Deep Calls Out Remixes via BFE, The Orchard and Sony Music Entertainment. The EP features six distinctly different mixes of the song Deep Calls Out, with styles ranging from Rock to Dub, Pop, Alternative Dance, Acoustic and Ambient. Ken Ramm and vocalist Kalisa Ewing are the composers of Deep Calls Out, with the EP containing instrumental contributions from synthesizer player Patrick Gleeson, co producer Steve Addabbo, Steven Van Zandt drummer Rich Mercurio and dublab executive director Ale Cohen. Artwork is by longtime Euphoria collaborator Christine Alicino.

Euphoria's music has been used on several television shows, including CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,[14] Malcolm in the Middle,[15]Roswell,[16] and Luck, among others.[17] Films include The Expendables 3,[18] Vanilla Sky and Hidalgo.[19] Euphoria's music has also been used in several high profile advertising promotions including Apple Computer and Nissan.

Band founder, Ken Ramm, holds the registered United States and Canadian trademark in the name Euphoria, for a musical group with the USPTO and Canadian Patent And Trademark Office.
