Erin Hawksworth (born March 31, 1981) is a Canadian sports anchor and reporter. After spending the first 10 years of her career in the United States, Hawksworth decided to return to her home country to work for Rogers Sportsnet in Canada.
Hawksworth previously worked for KCPQ, the Fox affiliate in Seattle as both a sports and morning news anchor. She also worked for WFXT, the Fox affiliate in Boston,[1]WFAA in Dallas, Texas and KJCT in Grand Junction, Colorado. She also worked for NBC, covering the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece, and was an intern in the sports department at KPNX in Phoenix, Arizona.[2]
Personal
Erin was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, but grew up in Sammamish, Washington. Her younger brother Blake is a pitcher in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization. Her grandfather Jack Poole, was the head of the VANOC bid committee that brought the Winter Olympics to Vancouver.
Education
Erin graduated from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication where she earned an academic scholarship at Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Mass Communication. While at ASU, Hawksworth maintained at least a 3.5 GPA in 12 or more semester hours of graded coursework and was recognized by the Cronkite School's Dean's List. She attended both Skyline High School and Eastlake High School in Sammamish.
