The Engstligen falls have one of the highest water volumes of alpine water falls and are one of the sights of Adelboden.
The numerous mountain streams of Engstligenalp, a plateau at an elevation of 2,000 m, join together near its northern exit and fall in two steps over the rocks 600 m into the Engstligen valley where they become the official beginning of the Engstlige river.
The upper fall can be seen partially from the Engstligenalp cable railway, a full view is possible from the seam path leading up the rocks.
The lower fall is accessible by a comfortable mountain path from the lower station of the Engstligenalp cable railway.
In winter, the Engstligen falls are a paradise for ice climbers.
