inSync is an enterprise-level integrated suite of backup, file sharing, data loss prevention, and analytics solutions. inSync is produced by Druva, an endpoint data management company located in Sunnyvale, California. inSync is used worldwide and protects more than 1 million endpoints.[1]
Technology
The inSync suite offers backup and restoration, file sharing, data loss prevention (DLP), and data analytics features. The backup process is non-intrusive and users can backup their devices without an interruption in productivity. Integrated DLP provides multiple layers of protection for devices, enabling encryption, geo-location, and remote data delete capabilities. File sharing features allow users to easily sync files across devices, while also providing IT administrators unified policy management for end-to-end data protection and governance. Analytics functionality gives IT administrators tools to analyze endpoint data usage trends, locate any file or folder on any device, and generate reports with real-time information on data usage.
inSync is available for both on-premise and cloud deployment and uses data duplication and WAN optimization to maximize bandwidth and storage resources. The global deduplication technology is application-aware and saves only a single copy of files across backup and file sharing. inSync performs deduplication at the object level, ensuring 100% duplicate reduction for Microsoft Outlook, Office documents and PDFs. WAN optimization adjusts for network noise and latency, assuring the packets sizes are optimal for data transfer.
inSync features multiple levels of enterprise-grade security to protect data in both transit and storage. Security includes two-factor encryption, SAS-70 certified Amazon AWS-powered infrastructure, ISAE 3000 certification of Druva’s cloud controls, and single sign-on capabilities.
inSync added private cloud capabilities on 2013, adding great scalability and flexibility for large enterprises.[2] This increased the maximum users per customer to more than 100,000, while allowing companies to meet their security and compliance needs by hosting their data onsite.
Awards
In 2012 Gartner ranked inSync first in its analysis of 11 endpoint backup solutions.[3] inSync received the CODiE award for Best International Data Protection Solution in 2012[4] and the 2012 Best in Biz Silver Award for Enterprise Product of the Year.[5] inSync also received the 2012 Information Age Information Management Innovation Award.[6]
