Talk:Nancy Davis (businesswoman)

Looks salvageable

edit

I've had this article undeleted to draftspace. (User_talk:Tamzin#Nancy_Davis_(business_woman)) Given the problems with the article to date (Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Toshikenan), I want as much review as we can get. - Hipal (talk) 20:47, 10 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Maybe not. I've looked over all the refs, with the exception of the WSJ, which I couldn't access. I couldn't find a ref verifying she was a recipient of the Presidential Scholars Program, while wondering if it's a high enough honor to provide independent notability for her. All I'm seeing is that she's been called upon as an expert by some networks for her financial opinions. I don't believe that provides her with notability. If we went to a new AfD, I'd probably not participate other than to comment on references. I wouldn't repeat my weak keep vote in the prior Afd. --Hipal (talk) 22:29, 10 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Moved from article - featured and profiled

edit

She has featured and profile in many notable financial organization and newspapers such as Business Insiders,[1] Bloomberg News,[2] CNBC,[3] Wall Street Journal,[4] CNN,[5] Financial Times,[6] The Economist[7] and Forbes Germany[8].

I've moved the above here so the refs can be reviewed for other use, especially establishing notability. --Hipal (talk) 21:58, 10 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

I think it would be worthwhile to ask folks in the NCORP realm about this one. My impression is television financial consultancy is a very common promotional tactic for AMCs so there's the potential for non-independence here. JoelleJay (talk) 01:43, 12 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Looking them over, I'm not seeing anything that's useful. --Hipal (talk) 22:17, 10 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hiya I also voted keep at the AfD (what a weird story that led to). I thought with the links you and I provided, there was enough to establish notability. I'll have another look now. Mujinga (talk) 11:41, 11 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
Yeah I still stand by my keep , I'm seeing significant coverage in reliable sources. Not much, could be more for sure, but enough to meet notability requirements I think. Anyway that's me done, I'll drop a message to women in red leave it for other opinions, thanks for getting it undeleted Hipal! Mujinga (talk) 11:59, 11 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
