      Dicle (Ottoman Turkish: پيران,[3]Kurdish: Pîran, Zazaki: Piran) is a town and district of Diyarbakır Province, Turkey. Population is 8436 (as of 2010).

      Dicle is also the Turkish name of the Tigris river, which runs through the district and gave its name to it. The name derives through Akkadian Idiqlat from the original Sumerian name for the river, Idigna.
