Comic Book Men is an unscripted television series set inside Kevin Smith's comic book shop Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash in Red Bank, New Jersey. The first season ran for six one-hour episodes,[1] the premiere of which aired on February 12, 2012, following the return of The Walking Dead's second season on AMC.[2] On May 9, AMC announced that Comic Book Men was renewed for a second season of 16 half-hour episodes.[3]

Each episode of Comic Book Men is accompanied by a companion podcast, titled The Secret Stash, which is hosted on the SModcast network. Each podcast features more of the cast's discussion than is shown being recorded during the show.[4]

1 "Junk"[5] February 12, 2012 (2012-02-12) 1.96[6]
Bryan, Ming and Mike compete to sell off some of the shop's excess stock at the Collingwood Flea Market in Farmingdale, New Jersey. Walt appraises a sketch of Batman drawn by Bob Kane, and customers of the Stash attempt to sell various items to the staff, including a "life-size" doll of Chucky from the Child's Play film series, a vintage figure of Steve Austin from The Six Million Dollar Man, and a set of Dawn of the Dead promotional lobby cards, prompting the staff to consult with the show's first expert guest, popculturist Rob Bruce.[5]
2 "Life After Clerks"[7] February 19, 2012 (2012-02-19) 1.44[8]
Kevin and the cast play a game of street hockey, and Jason Mewes visits the Stash for a day. A customer arrives at the shop in a replica of the Batmobile from the 1966 TV series, Walt shows interest in a budding artist's self-published comic, a would-be director looks to sell some of his comic collection to help fund a movie, and the authenticity of a lightsaber hilt prop is assessed by Star Wars expert Kevin Liell.
3 "Commercial"[9] February 26, 2012 (2012-02-26) 1.26[10]
Bryan directs the Secret Stash's first commercial. Four customers with rare books to sell show up: one with a box of valuable comics her garbage-collector husband found on the curb; a second with a stack of classic Fireside Books (some of the first "trade paperback" comic collections published); a third with a complete CGC-graded set of Marvel Comics' Secret Wars; and the fourth with his grandmother's comic collection potentially worth $750,000. Another young lady--a struggling artist with a wild butterfly-like hairdo--shows up to sell off her collector's edition Transformers Megatron figurine.
4 "Zombies"[11] March 4, 2012 (2012-03-04) 1.52[12]
Walt reluctantly allows Ming to run a zombie-themed sales promotion. A young couple arrive at the Stash looking for comics featuring Wolverine and the X-Men, Rob Bruce appraises a limited-edition Godzilla figure, Walt looks at a collection of Silver Age Marvel comics, a heartbroken young man looks to buy a set of Tortured Souls figures, and Rob Bruce returns to the store with a friend possessing some of the original pages from a 1988 Silver Surfer graphic novel drawn by John Buscema
5 "Con Gone Wrong"[13] March 11, 2012 (2012-03-11) 1.74[14]
The cast head to a small fan convention at an Elks Lodge where, after a setback, they strike gold among trash. Customers of the Stash arrive with more items to sell, including an Avengers' 30th anniversary lithograph signed by George Pérez, a photocopy of the Punisher character's original concept sketch, a Barbie doll dressed as Halle Berry in the 2004 Catwoman movie, a "Ninja Claw" action figure connected to, but not featured in the 1985 Commando movie, a poster print said to portray "gay Superman", and a replica Batman cowl created from the original costume designs for the 1966 TV series.
6 "Ink"[15] March 18, 2012 (2012-03-18) 1.35[16]
Walt challenges the staff to get tattoos. A woman arrives at the Stash looking for a romantic gift for her boyfriend, a man wants to sell a Green Lantern movie prop replica, Bryan shows interest in a woman's collection of Barbie dolls dressed as classic super-heroines, Walt negotiates for a set of Target-exclusive Batman figures, and a young man resembling Kirk Cameron brings in a number of old books to offer.
