Centro Escolar University Makati is a private university located in Makati City, Philippines. It is a satellite campus of the Centro Escolar University in Manila.
CEU Makati is the home to the CEU School of Law and Jurisprudence.
History
The Centro Escolar University community witnessed the birth of a campus in June 2005 located in the central business district of the National Capital Region at 259-263 Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue, Makati City. Subsequently after two years of operation, the CEU built another unit, which opened on June 2007 at 103 Esteban corner Dela Rosa Streets, Legaspi Village, Makati City. These two units were established to meet the growing demand for higher education from Metro Manila and other prospective applicants from the South.
The Makati Campus is CEU's response to the increasing demand for health professional and non-science courses for which the University has been known during 100 years of existence. The Master of Business Administration program was also offered to make it accessible for the employees of various business corporations in Makati City. Subscribing to the university's educational philosophy of "science and virtue", CEU Makati is determined to produce globally competent professionals imbued with wholesome values and attitudes.[2]

School of Law and Jurisprudence
The Juris Doctor Program is offered by the Centro Escolar University at its Sen. Gil Puyat campus at the heart of Makati City. The location is very accessible and convenient for young professionals, and even executives, who may wish to advance in their present positions. Knowledge of the law offers endless opportunities not only in the legal profession itself but in other fields of human activity as well, including employment opportunities. The study of law sharpens intellectual capabilities, improves logical thinking and enhances problem-solving ability. It broadens one’s outlook in life and creates a deeper understanding of human relations and social interactions. The trend in the country today is the opening of back offices, and one of the demands in this area is legal assistance.
Juris Doctor is a four-year program grounded on core courses required under the Rules of Court of the Philippines - Civil Law, Labor and Social Legislation, Mercantile Law, Criminal Law, Political Law, International Law, Taxation, Remedial Law, Legal Ethics and other recognized courses. Graduates of this program who meet the legal education requirements of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) may apply for admission to the Philippine Bar. The curriculum supports and develops keen problem-solving skills, analytical reasoning, advanced communicative abilities, and increased capacity for independent thinking.
The CEU School of Law and Jurisprudence integrates in the legal education of students the basic elements of the Christian faith which, after all, are the very same character traits of good citizenship, i.e., the dignity of the human person, the value of his freedom and the indispensability of his community for growth and development.[4]
