The Assemblin Caverion Group is a Nordic contracting concern in the building sector, headquartered in Stockholm-Hägersten. Its main activities are in building services (MEP - Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing / HVAC) and building automation, which comprise base systems, smart technologies and digital solutions. Assemblin Caverion delivers smart and sustainable solutions for the built environment, enabling efficient building performance and occupant well-being. The group focuses on the life-cycle of buildings, infrastructure and industrial compounds. Its services consist of technical installation, maintenance, plant management and engineering. The Assemblin Caverion Group operates in Northern and Central Europe.

The current group is the result of various company reorganisations in Scandinavia and Finland.
Roots in Sweden edit
Assemblin’s history goes back to the early 1900s in Sweden. Allmänna Ingenjörsbyrån was founded in 1901. The companies Sana and Nordiska Värme och Ventilations were founded in 1902 and 1903. Thereafter, the Swedish company Assemblin grew through several mergers between Sydtotal, Närkes Elektriska (NEA) and Imtech[1].
Roots in Finland edit
Caverion acquired the companies EMC Talotekniikka Oy, Maintpartner, Huurre and Pelsu Pelastussuunnitelma. Caverion Corporation was established in June 2013 through the demerger of the Building Services and Industrial Services businesses from YIT Group. Assemblin Caverion's national office for Finland is located in Vapaala, Vantaa.
Roots in Norway edit
Caverion's Norwegian history goes back to Frognerkilens Fabrikk[2], which was established in Oslo-Skøyen in 1873. Since that time, a series of company acquisitions were carried out: Norsk Elektrisk Aktiebolag, Drammens Rørleggerforretning, Elektrisk Bureau AS, Per Kure A/S, Norsk Viftefabrikk AS, Elektro Union, Elektrisk Bureau and Eneas-Esco were fused in. Together these have led to today's Caverion Norge, located in Oslo-Etterstad.
Expansion to Danmark edit
In Danmark, Caverion acquired Gunderlund A/S in December 2019[3] and CS Electric A/S in September 2022[4], thus extending its activity in in the marine, energy and industrial segments. Nowadays Caverion Danmark has its national main office in Fredericia, Jutland.
Further growth and expansion to mainland Europe edit
While consolidating its presence in the Nordic countries, Caverion Corporation expanded to Central Europe, establishing offices in Germany, Austria, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. In 2023, Caverion had grown to about 15,000 employees. In 2023, Caverion's revenue was approximately 2.5 billion Euro.
Merger edit
In April 2024, the Swedish contractor Assemblin and the Finnish contractor Caverion merged to create a Northern European technical service & installation company, named Assemblin Caverion Group. The newly formed group counts nearly 22,000 employees together in ten countries. The combined revenue amounts to 3.8 billion Euro. The group is listed on the Nasdaq Helsinki.[5]

Some of the major recent realisations by the Assemblin Caverion Group are, for instance:
- Facility management for Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm-Solna, Sweden.
- BMS system for Technopolis in Oslo, Norway.
- Power and heat plant maintenance with Fortum.
- Facility management for the Technical University of Munich in Germany.
Environmental and social sustainability goals edit
The solutions realised by Assemblin Caverion focus on four sustainability areas:[6]
- Decreasing the company's ecological & carbon footprint,
- Stimulating positive climate impact (also called "carbon handprint"),
- Providing well-being for the building occupants,
- Ensuring a sustainable product chain (involving system parts and raw materials).
The group's corporate sustainability target for 2030 is to achieve a positive carbon handprint that will be 10 times larger than the company's own carbon footprint.
