Misclassified articles edit

Articles are regularly being misclassified into this category, especially articles about:

  • Design methodologies
  • HCI theories
  • Software architectures
  • Specific computer applications

In order to avoid the need for regular clean-ups I've created an article to clarify the concept of user interface technique as it is currently understood by a vast majority of researchers and practitioners in human-computer interaction.

More work to be done edit

As I see it, this category can be improved by:

  • Adding more interaction techniques. So far the list does not have many innovative interaction techniques (examples here), and 3D interaction techniques are absent.
  • Cleaning up. Some pages here should be probably moved to the Widget sub-category. Some pages in the categories user interface and Graphical user interface could be probably moved / copied here.
  • Adding subcategories. One such category could be "text input techniques". That would clean up the list a little bit. Other examples are "3d interaction techniques" and "visualization techniques". Also, we have here some high-level concepts such as metaphors and interaction styles (direct manipulation, attentive user interface, tangible computing). Maybe we should consider turning them into subcategories.
