Carolyn J. Krysiak

Carolyn Josephine Krysiak (née Fabiszak; August 9, 1939 – May 8, 2024) was an American politician who represented the 46th legislative district in the Maryland House of Delegates. Krysiak was also the chair of the House Facilities Committee, being appointed by Speaker Michael E. Busch to that position in 2005.[1]

Krysiak was born in Baltimore, Maryland on August 9, 1939. She graduated from The Catholic High School (all girls) and then attended the University of Maryland and the Community College of Baltimore. Prior to taking office she was a supervisor in the Baltimore City Department of Finance. She was of Polish descent.[2]

Personal life edit

Krysiak met her future husband, Charles J. Krysiak, at a Catholic Youth Organization dance. They married in 1962, and together they had five children and lived in the Bayview neighborhood of Baltimore. Charles served in the Maryland House of Delegates from 1966 until his resignation in 1979, when Governor Blair Lee III appointed him chair of the Maryland Workers' Compensation Commission.[3]

Krysiak died from cancer at her daughter's home in Middle River, Maryland, on May 8, 2024. She was 84 years old.[3]
