Ave (Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈavɨ]) is a subregion integrated in the larger Norte Region, Portugal. It is bordered to the north by Cávado Subregion, to the east and south by Tâmega Subregion and to the west by Grande Porto Subregion. It is a densely populated subregion and one of the more industrialized in the country. Part of the historical region of Minho, it is centered around the historic city of Guimarães (the birthplace of the Portuguese nationalism). The subregion has an area of 1,248 km2 (482 sq mi) and a population of 519,500 as of 2005 for an overall density of 416 inhabitants per km².

The major urban centers are the cities of Guimarães, its chief city (population approximately 93,000 in urban area), Vila Nova de Famalicão (population 30,188), Fafe (17,000) and Vizela (10,000).

The main industries of the subregion are the textile industry, clothing and apparel.
