The Australia women's national sevens rugby union team represents Australia at a national level. They were champions of the inaugural Women's Sevens World Cup in 2009, and have also recently competed in the IRB Women's Sevens Challenge Cup. In October 2012, Australia was announced by the International Rugby Board as one of the six "core teams" that will compete in all four rounds of the inaugural IRB Women's Sevens World Series in 2012–13.[1]
