The Alternative Education Resource Organization or AERO is a non-profit organization founded in 1989 to advance learner-centred approaches to education.
AERO is also the host of an annual conference called the AERO Conference, held this[when?] past August at the Red Lion Hotel at Jantzen Beach in Portland, Oregon, USA, which brings together educators, students, parents, and many others interested and/or involved in educational alternatives from around the U.S., Canada, and the world.
AERO has over 500 member schools and organizations as well as many individual members. It publishes Education Revolution Magazine both in print and online. Their bookstore exclusively distributes many rare alternative education books and DVDs not available elsewhere. It has online courses and other resources for people starting new educational alternatives.
