Agave anomala is a species of Agave in the family Asparagaceae.[1] This species, an endemic of Cuba, is present on San Salvador, the eastern most island in the Bahamas. At maturity, plants produce a flowering stalk that can grow to nearly four meters. Although the main ramet dies after flowering, the plant often produces new shoots vegetatively. Several other Agave including the ornamental species, A. americana (century plant) are present on the island.
