Flag of the regiment

The 57th Line Infantry Regiment or (57th IR) is a regiment of the French Army, heir of the Beauvoisis Regiment. It comes from a tradition carried since 1667. The Regiment has since its creation been in an almost continuous existence: under the Kingdom of France, the French First Republic, the First French Empire and during the course of both World Wars.
