Events
January
- The founding member and current vocalist of Ratt Stephen Pearcy agreed to release an historical box-set which will include many previously unreleased rarities from Pearcy's history including Ratt, Arcade, Vicious Delite, Vertex, and his own solo material. An early summer release is expected.[1]
- Jani Lane's Supergroup Saints Of The Underground finished the recording of their Début Album titled Love The Sin, Hate The Sinner and was released later in the year.[2]
- Great White reunite to play a benefit concert. The concert will be used to raise funds to help Harpseals continue their efforts to rescue the Baby Harp Seals in Canada.[3]
February
- Van Halen's long-rumored reunion tour with original singer David Lee Roth came one step closer as ink dried on the final contracts on the 2nd. The tour will feature Roth alongside founding members Eddie Van Halen and Alex Van Halen, with Eddie's son, Wolfgang Van Halen who recently replaced Michael Anthony, on bass.[4]
- Marty Friedman releases his new instrumental solo album Loudspeaker in the US in March. In his own words the album in his opinion would change all preconceptions about instrumental albums as it is emotionally fuelled with a mix of solos from himself.[5]
- Love/Hate reunite for one live show. The original members are to play their first show together in several years at Club Vodka on the 24th.[6]
March
- Velvet Revolver stand in for Van Halen at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.[7]
- Eddie Van Halen entered rehab. in a statement from himself he said "I have always and will always feel a responsibility to give you my best. At the moment I do not feel that I can give you my best. That's why I have decided to enter a rehabilitation facility to work on myself, so that in the future I can deliver the 110% that I feel I owe you and want to give you".[8]
- Beautiful Creatures make an announcement that the band are to go on a Hiatus but reassured fans that they'd be continuing with other projects down the line.[9]
