The 1982 Midwestern City Conference men's basketball tournament (now known as the Horizon League men's basketball tournament) was held March 2–4 at Mabee Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.[1]

Evansville defeated Loyola Chicago in the championship game, 81–72, to win their first MCC/Horizon League men's basketball tournament.
The Purple Aces received an automatic bid to the 1982 NCAA tournament as the #10 seed in the Midwest region.
Format
editAll seven conference members participated in the tournament and were seeded based on regular season conference records. The top seed (Evansville) was given a bye into the semifinal round while the remaining six teams were placed into the initial quarterfinal round.
