DescriptionSpringfield, IL Union Station (3827212437).jpg
Known as Springfield Union Station since its completion in 1898. It was designed, built, and used predominantly by Illinois Central Railroad although other railroads, such as B&O, also used the station. Passenger service to this station ceased with the formation of Amtrak when all passenger operations where combined to the old C&A station a few blocks away. Restored in 2007 (including rebuilding the clock tower that had been removed in the 1930's). Now used as an Abraham Lincoln visitor library.
